About SETIN

The Association for Culture, Community, and Roots

A home for culture, friendship, and historical ties Setin (a non-profit, non-political organization) was founded in 2008 by a group of Lurs residing in Gothenburg, Sweden. The name "Setin" means "pillar" or "support" in our dialect – a symbol of security and community. The association was created based on this philosophy: to be a meeting place for belonging and to preserve our cultural roots in a new environment.

Setin operates based on the UN Declaration of Human Rights. Although the association was initially formed with a focus on preserving Luri cultural heritage and history as an inseparable part of Iran's rich history, SETIN is open to all. We have no restrictions regarding ethnicity, religion, or culture, and we welcome everyone who wants to contribute to our cultural goals, regardless of where they are in the world.
